Matured slowly. The island way.
pure & simple
Our stock are raised on some of the purest pastures in the world. Matured slowly, the island way.
When it comes to cattle and sheep our family has always chosen to work with traditional native breeds as they are known to thrive in our island environment. The cattle that graze our machair pastures are Aberdeen Angus and Beef Shorthorn, the hill ground at Loch Skipport is grazed by our Highland Cattle. Our sheep are North Country Cheviots crossed with Texel.
Our lambs and cattle only ever cover island miles on foot throughout their lifetime, moving between their grazing pastures.
We were really keen from the outset to reduce food miles and support our local supply chain. Where possible we choose to process all our meat at the island abattoirs, meaning the lowest possible food miles to bring amazing local produce to your plate.
