Food on the Go

When travelling our Island shores we suggest you take lots of time to sit back, soak up the scenery and enjoy some “Island time”. We also suggest this is best done whilst sampling some of our amazing local produce, here are my top recommendations for food on the go when visiting the southern isles.

CROFT & CUAN

Street food at its very best, Island style. The girls work with all the amazing produce available across the islands, creating a menu with both contemporary and traditional elements. Think burgers, tacos, curries, hot dogs, salads, lobster, venison, scallops, langoustines, crab, lamb and more.

Highly recommend the Big Bad Barrach (Panko breaded Barra cod, tangy pickled red cabbage, sriracha mayo and rocket) just wow!

Based in Lochboisdale at the pier, they also head out on the road on Friday and Saturday nights bringing their food throughout the Islands. Check the Instagram or facebook for this week’s locations and opening times.

Location: Calabhaigh, Lochboisdale, Isle of South Uist HS8 5TP
